ahoo thankfully its not raining here today! Nat and I went down to Gurnard to watch the start of the St Peters Port race last night. Whistler was no where to be seen at 7 oclock and were starting to worry as we could not even see her bright coloured hull on the horizon! The first class to start was pretty calm, though the definite advantage was to stay close into the beach as the foul tide was shooting past and with the wind being so light those that chose to stay closer to the channel were going……..backwards!
Just when we thought that Whistler wasn’t going to come anywhere near being there in time for the start, …………there she was a faint, sorta yellow dot! Come on hurry up you lot, what are you playing at

Isle of Wight Garlic Festival
Nat & I went off to Newchurch yesterday to enjoy the island delights of the Garlic Festival, it was pretty good for a country bumpkin affair. First on the agenda was to try to the Garlic Ice cream, and yep, it was pretty disgusting to say the least. The person serving it up even asked whether or not we would like some hot chilli sauce on it, and he defo wasn't joking!!
There were dog agility shows, sky divers, a guy called Jason Smythe who was a trick bike rider, but the only trick he really did was to have us all believe it was going to be an adrenelin rush watching him ride his bike, far from it, it was all a bit lame I am afraid.
Not much else went down this weekend, seems it was the first weekend in quite a while where there was no sailing, and after Cowes Week, it was really a welcome break.
Next weekend I have to miss the St Peters Port race as I have to go to a wedding on Bank HOliday Monday on the mainland so good luck to Team Whistler!!!
